Additional Security Features for our Color Card System

Any kind of counterfeit will more and more become problematic for many industry branches. The security industry needs reliable features which ideally should not be copyable in order to best fight the negative effects. The biggest security advantage of our color card system is the color code itself. Additionally, cards can be equipped with the newest security features making it hard or even impossible to copy. All features can be utilised singly or in random combination. The features inclusive advantages are explained in more detail.

Visual Security Features

These security features are visual only using special tools or processes. These features are really hard to copy and can be used in combination for highest security purposes.

Microtexting

As the name suggests, this security process involves printing very small text in a specific location on a card surface. Because it is difficult to print true microtext with thermal printers due to limitations in font size printing with thermal printers, microtext is generally pre-printed prior to dye sublimation printing using a type of offset press. Microtext can also be found on higher end holographic security overlaminates. Due to the difficult nature of reproducing microtext in its original form, it is considered a viable security addition.

Guilloche Graphics

Guilloche graphics refers to complex line patterns formed of two more curved lines plotted according to mathematical principles. Guilloche patterns provide such effective anti-counterfeiting protection that they are used on virtually all banknotes throughout the world. Normally used to create ornamental boarders and emblems, they are effective, and beautiful. These patterns can be printed on an extra layer which is then permanently glued onto the card and it can not be removed.

Hidden Elements in Card Core

Another security feature can be applied to the card itself. Hidden elements like patterns, letters, or shapes of any kind can be added during the card production process. These elements are incorporated into the card an can not be seen even with daylight. Strong light must be used in order to visualize these features making it a perfect optical security measure against counterfeit. Moreover, these elements are completely tamper proof and can not be damaged unless the card is destroyed.

UV Ink Printing

UV inking is a method of adding uniqueness to a plastic card. UV inking has been widely used and accepted by governments, Drivers License programs and many in the financial world. Our color card printer can also be equipped with a special UV ink ribbon and print any kind of pattern which is visible under UV light only. The unique MAC address of the printing device can also be transferred to the card which enables check of authentication.

Invisible Personal Information (IPI)

With the help of a special software a hidden image can be incorporated into a visible image. The hidden image can be any kind of information, preferably a personalized security feature. The feature becomes visible with a special decoder lens only.

This security feature can therefore not be copied!

Lamination with Optical Variable Ink (OVIĀ®)

OVIĀ® - Optical Variable Ink consists of special pigments whose color changes depending on the viewer's angle. Its effect is best viewed when printed on top of dark colors. The card is best equipped with this feature using laminate with imprinted elements of any kind. Lamination can be done using our color card printer with additional lamination device.

Holographic Cards or Seals

Hologram cards feature a standard three-dimensional hologram stamped on blank standard-sized cards. The holograms have a visual impact that changes color and appearance when viewed at different angles. And, with features like nanotext and laser-viewable images, it is virtually impossible to replicate. Alternatively, custom hologram cards feature your custom graphic in a high security hologram. Your custom graphic is converted to a hologram image that is permanently embedded on blank, standard-sized cards. The result is a visually-dynamic card that is easy to validate and virtually impossible to duplicate.

Electronic Security Features

The electronic features are highly encrypted. This means that descryption requires a special key such as biometric data which can be used to match against real data to ensure authenticity.

Magnetic Stripe

The magnetic stripe can be used to store a limited amount of encrypted data. This data can be read using any available magnetic card reader. Magnetic stripe reading devices are widely spread. In our case, the magnetic stripe can be used as additional electronic data storage which can be matched against the color code or a real-time biometric fingerprint. This offers additional security and can be used with existing card reading systems.
